If I could add an 11th I would add Cockos Reaper which is the best DAW in existence.let the DAW wars begin :p Again, I must add, this is just at the moment and could change depending on so many factors but I stand behind the above 10 and honourable mentions as great quality plug ins that are very, very capable. Just a phenomenal piece of programming that producers, artists and creatives will be using for a very long time. Probably the greatest VST creation of all time. Everything I do nowadays involves this plug in. Thick, syrupy sound that sits nicely in the mix. Togu Audio Lab 'Sampler' My favourite VST sampler at the moment. Vintage Verb might edge it slightly for me. Valhalla DSP I'm not sure which one is my favourite as they are all first class. Lexicon MPX1 I chose this because I know the hardware unit intimately and this does a great job of emulating a great unit. IK Multimedia TrackS Bus Comp A superb SSL Buss Comp emulation that sounds great on drums, particularly if you're looking for punch! U-he Presswerk Super flexible workhorse that should be in everybody's sonic arsenal. Hard to explain what it's doing but it works and is super easy to navigate. Q3 is chomping at its heels but I prefer EQuilibrium at the moment.ĭDMF Magic Death Eye Makes everything it touches sound 'better' without flattering it too much.
Can handle every single EQ job I throw at it. If this was a hardware synth it would cost multiples of thousands of euros. This top 10 will probably be different a month from now and depending on what type of music I'm making at the time but for now these are my go to plugins for mixing and sound design. I've recently updated my hard drive and have been getting in depth with whatever plugins remain and there has been a few that have truly impressed.
